Using social media, one might get the impression that everything important in the legal industry happens only in Warsaw. It’s therefore incredibly encouraging that exactly a week ago, Wrocław created a space for discussions about the place and future of women in the legal profession.
Joanna Koziollek participated in the opening of the Wrocław Chapter of the Women in Law Foundation, which took place on May 12th. The opening of the Wrocław Chapter has the real potential to change the way women lawyers in the region can support and develop each other. Dominika Królik coordinated the Wrocław Chapter and organized the event.
Lawyers from various fields of law presented at the event. Attorney-at-law Alicja Cegielska-Rola and Natalia Szaraniec presented the perspective of in-house work; attorney-at-law Urszula Sibińska demonstrated with humor and optimism that heroism lies in making concrete decisions during difficult professional moments; and bailiff Emilia Matlak, who demystified the bailiff profession and challenged persistent stereotypes.
Kamila Kurkowska, who has consistently supported women in the legal profession for years, created the Women in Law Foundation, a platform where lawyers of various specialties can meet and exchange experiences.
